Enrollment is contingent upon your understanding and compliance to all rules and regulations set forth by the Miracle Dance Theatre. These rules are in place both to benefit the studio and you, our client.
If you have questions about any of the rules listed here, please be sure to ask a staff member. The staff reserves the right to change these rules at anytime. Clients will be made aware of any changes in the studio policies.
Attendance
Regular attendance is essential to ensure maximum progress for each
student. Tardiness is not permitted as students are required to
participate in the warm-up exercises at the beginning of each class.
Without proper warm up students run the risk of injury. Students are
required to arrive early and stretch prior to class. Students
who arrive late may be asked to observe class that day. Also, attendance
for students participating in any performance is imperative during the months
prior to a show. Students missing more than 2 of the last 10 classes or
the dress rehearsal will not participate in a performance.
If you arrive late for a Debut class and it has already begun, please wait to till shoe change to enter to avoid disrupting the class.
Class Parent
Every Debut class will require a parent to be assigned as the
Class Parent. The designated parent will be the "go to" person for the entire
school year. Their responsibilities will be answering general questions, coordinating
in class parties, assisting the teacher with costuming, hair and make-up, ensuring
volunteers at the Christmas and year end Showcase and letting the staff know of any
potential problems the class or parents may have. The Class Parent will receive a discount
on their last months tuition.
Classroom Etiquette
Communication
Communication is a very important part of a smooth running studio.
At MDT we make every effort to keep all of our students and parents
well informed. We have several lines of communication.
Costumes
Costumes are required for any dancer enrolled in a Perfomance class and participating
in the Annaul Showcase. On average, costumes cost between $45 and $65 each.
Measurements are taken in November and costumes are ordered in December.
Installment payments of $20 per costume are due on the first of October, November and December ($60 total per costume). If this deposit is not paid, your costume will not be ordered. Accounts set up for Automatic Withdrawal will also have these installment payments charged to their Card.
In January, any balance you have will be credited toward your tuition. If you owe a additional money, charges will appear on your statement in January and will be due February 1st.
Dress Code

Lobby Etiquette
Observation
MDT understands that you want to observe your child to ensure behavior
and learning, but your presence is often distracting and can lead to the disruption
of the entire class. MDT has scheduled periodic observation times throughout
the year. These dates can be found on the school calendar. Due to
limited space, we ask that only parents or legal guardians observe. Grandparents, Aunts/Uncles,
and siblings are to attend recital, not observe class.
The viewing window in Studio D will be closed or open depending upon the teacher. Instructors will try to allow viewing at some point during each class, but we only guarantee viewing during the planned observations periods. Please do not ask the teachers to open the blinds.
Payment Options
Below are payment options for the Academic Session. Summer tuition must be paid in full when you enroll for class.
See Tuition and Fees for more information.
Placement
Dance is a cumulative learning process and everyone progresses at
a different rate. Technique comes easier to some than others. It is not unusual for some students
to remain in the same level for 2 or 3 years before progressing while others need only
take one year of class. Placement is based solely on a child's ability. It is the teacher's duty to
evaluate each student's progress.
Therefore, the first two weeks of each session will be an evaluation period. Within those two weeks an instructor has final say on decisions to move a dancer up or down a level depending on the dancers technique and potential.
Proration of Tuition
Academic tuition will be prorated for dancers starting in the middle of a
month. The office will determine the proration amount. Payments
cannot be prorated for missed classes for any reason. See Tuition and Fees for more information.
Refunds
Tuition refunds will only be given if proper Withdrawal Procedures
have been followed. See Withdrawal Procedures below. Registration and costume fees will
not be refunded for any reason.
School Closing
During bad weather, a to close will be made by 2pm. Closing information
can be found by logging onto our website, checking the Channel 9 website or
listening to the studio outgoing phone message.
If a class is missed do to inclement weather or teacher illness it
will be made up. Missed classes due to dancers illness will not
be credited or made-up.
Studio Liability Waiver
In any physical activity there is the possibility for injury. While
it is our intention to provide your child with safety and protection,
it is not the responsibility of MDT or its staff to be held
liable for any injury while under its supervision. We require that
each student be covered by his or her families own insurance policies,
and if injury does occur, those policies are their only source of reimbursement.
