What is a dance competition?
At a dance competition, students put their skills to
the test by performing dance routines on a stage in front of a panel
of judges. The judges then calculate scores usually based on technique,
performance and costume. Each student receives a ribbon for the
routines they are in and the team is presented with a
trophy.
Where are dance competition held?
We attend four regional competitions each year. These
competition are in Cincinnati, Dayton, Louisville, Indianapolis or Columbus.
Sometimes competitions require an overnight stay. We
will attend a national competition every other year and these are typically
in Florida, Chicago or Gatlinburg. We only attend competitions that
are in an auditorium and are on a stage.
When are dance competition held?
Our competition season begins in February and ends in late April or early May.
If we attend a nationals that will be in late June or early July.
How much does a competition cost?
The actual cost depends on how many routines your child
participates in. Just like any select or elite sport, there are added
expenses, for example - costumes. Since the costumes are judged, they
must be of better quality than standard recital costumes. Therefore,
they will cost more. Every family has the opportunity to fundraise a
good portion of their expenses.
Why should I let my child join a Dance Company?
A Company gives dancers the opportunity to work toward excellence while
learning important teamwork skills. The individuals on our team become more
than just teammates... they become like family! Whether your child wants to be a
professional dancer or just wants to compete for fun, they will benefit from competitive dance.

Our staff and team are known and respected in the competition community for their professionalism, originality, skill and good sportsmanship.
Our choreography, costuming and music are always age-appropriate. We believe that class is more important that winning. Therefore, we do not attend competitions that reward such behavior.
We have a "NO DIVA" and "NO GOSSIP" to help prevent many of the problems commonly associated with dance teams.
FUN! We provide many fun activities outside the studio that allow team members to socialize and build friendships.
